Georgian Longcase/Grandfather Clock - 7084

This is a beautiful inlaid mahogany rolling moon long case clock. C1815 from Derby. This clock comes with some provenance, it was supposedly given as a wedding present to a returning soldier form the Napoleonic Wars C1815 to the town of Derby. It has an eight-day movement on a broken arch painted face with rolling moon and sun. Starting at the top it has swan necks with arched molded cornice and super turned pateras. The hood door is flanked by full turned columns. Above the hood door has been nicely cross banded in Rosewood which sets the hood off beautifully. The hood is flanked by double half turned column supports. The door to access the pendulum and weights has shaped peaks to the top it is nicely inlaid with Rosewood and is then flanked by half turned columns. The base ends with typical shaped Georgian feet A truly magnificent clock which is in fully working order..
